FABP4 belongs to the fatty acid binding protein (FABP) family. FABPs contribute to the transport of fatty acids and other lipids in various cellular pathways. FABP4 is expressed in adipocytes, macrophages, monocyte-derived dendritic cells, and myoepithelial cells.
